Frequently asked questions

The farmer should seek advice. This can be from their local rural financial counsellor, solicitor, accountant, Legal Aid Queensland or some other appropriately qualified person. 

If the farmer wishes to enter into mediation, a response to the notice should be lodged in the form of a Notice S15 Request for Mediation Incorporating Nomination of Mediators and Request for Documents.
 

Yes! When starting to think about preparing your Farm Business Resilience Plan we strongly encourage you to seek the assistance of the free Farm Business Resilience Program best suited to your industry. You can view the list of free program providers and their contact details on the ‘Farm Business Resilience Program QRIDA referral contacts’ link under related information links on the Drought Preparedness Grant webpage.

There are also free templates, guidance notes and checklists available for producers to use to help with their Farm Business Resilience Plan. You can access these on the Department of Primary Industries website.
 

If your application is successful, you will be required to enter into a written agreement with QRIDA that steps out when and how the financial assistance will be paid.  You will receive your first payment on approval and subsequent payments on completion of milestones.

No, GST is not payable on financial assistance under the Scheme.

Grant funding is not guaranteed at any stage of the application process. Each application will be individually assessed as per the Scheme guidelines.

No. You cannot receive assistance if you have not received an eligibility notice. Please get in touch with DPI to get an eligibility notice approved before applying, and see the Queensland Regional Drought Resilience Planning website for more information on eligibility notices.
