Over the past 35 years Andrew Drysdale has built an extensive professional network across a broad range of interest groups. His practical knowledge, transparent, honest approach and easy manner has enabled him to demonstrate his wide-ranging abilities whilst pursuing his passion for the sustainable management of natural resources. Andrew has undertaken an array of roles in the field, and operated in many different capacities including:
- Land holder/Manager in South West Queensland
- Supporting primary producers as a member of regional, state and national commodity councils/organisations
- Working as an extension officer in the fields of animal husbandry and land management
- Leading the development and management of community based natural resource management organisations at regional, state and national scales
- Chairing of various organisations, committees and working groups over a 30 year period.
Andrew's knowledge of the Land Restoration Fund has been achieved initially through facilitating a pilot workshop for the Queensland Governments Land Restoration Fund. Andrew designed and delivered the workshop and produced a workshop report. The workshop evaluation revealed that 85% of participants came to the workshop with a low to medium level of knowledge of the Land Restoration Fund. By the end of the workshop, 73% of participants felt they had a high level of knowledge and 27% with a medium level of knowledge. This workshop resulted in a further 14 workshops being delivered around the State, co-facilitated by Andrew. A key component of the workshops was a question and answer panel which exposed Andrew to the many issues and questions potential applicants have around the LRF and responses to those issues and questions from the Queensland government and carbon industry experts in this area.
