The Carbon Farming Advice Rebate Program provides land managers, or organisations seeking advice on their behalf, with a rebate.

The Carbon Farming Advice Rebate Program provides a rebate to offset the cost of obtaining advice about undertaking carbon farming projects by land managers, or organisations seeking advice on their behalf, through the Land Restoration Fund.

Eligibility criteria

Funding up to $10,000 is available to offset the costs of eligible advice from approved advisers at a cost of up to $200 per hour (excluding GST), and reasonable travel and accommodation expenses for the approved adviser.

To be eligible for a rebate under the program you must receive the eligible advice from an approved adviser and be an eligible entity, such as:

  • primary producers 
  • small to medium sized businesses 
  • land holders with a private conservation area 
  • non-profit organisations 
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporations
  • local governments 
  • a land holder in Queensland
  • an eligible entity seeking advice on behalf of a land holder in Queensland.

How to find an Approved Adviser

Approved Advisers are qualified and experienced professionals who have undergone a rigorous assessment and application process managed by QRIDA. This approval process ensures the carbon farming advice provided to land holders meets the required standard.

How to claim a rebate

To apply for a rebate, complete the Carbon Farming Advice Rebate Program Claim Form and attach the following:

  • a tax invoice/s and a document showing full payment for the eligible advice;
  • a copy of the written advice received; and
  • a declaration you are satisfied with the advice received.

Completed Carbon Farming Advice Rebate Program claim forms should be submitted by 30 September 2020 to receive the rebate.
