Kym Dianne Wilson

Ready to Adapt Environmental Services specialises in carbon sequestration and biodiversity project consulting. Our primary goal is to assist property owners and community groups in understanding and implementing carbon sequestration projects to assist in funding conservation work.

Our mission is to inspire and guide landowners in creating thriving, resilient ecosystems. We believe that by working with nature, rather than against it, we can cultivate landscapes that are not only productive but also rich in biodiversity and ecological health. Our goal is to foster a harmonious relationship between agriculture and the environment, ensuring long-term sustainability for future generations.

Over the last five years, Kym has been working in the field of Environmental Sustainability joining Carbon8 as Farm Team Manager in 2021 to further develop the regenerative farming program by working directly with farmers and partners.

Kym brings extensive experience with holistic management, biological stimulation and active research into regenerative practice including:

  • Conservation Agriculture

  • Holistic Management

  • Catchment Management

  • Whole Farm Planning

  • Certification platforms

  • Soil Carbon Sequestration and marketing

  • Digital Farm mapping including GIS

  • Remote sensing and satellite technology

  • Biodiversity conservation and management

Working with farmers to regenerate their land has taught Kym that no two farms are alike. Similarly, farmers come with their own set of goals, challenges and ambitions. Working with these people is the most rewarding and wonderful experience that has broadened Kym's skillset and knowledge in many areas.

Developing regenerative Land Management Plans and working with farmers to ensure they are valued and recognised for their hard work both financially and environmentally is so important to the ongoing future of farming in this country. Carbon sequestration is a vital ecosystem service. Farmers hold the key to this in the form of their natural capital. They deserve to be rewarded for good management and carbon sequestration along with additional ecosystem services such as building diversity and increasing the water-holding capacity of soils to benefit the farmer, the environment and the community in which they sit.

Kym's passion for biodiversity and threatened ecosystems has allowed Kym to work with many individuals, NGOs and private businesses. Some of Kym's most recent works are listed below:

  • Regen Advisor - Traprock Landscape Regeneration Pilot. Co-design with farmers and stakeholders a new biodiversity project to address the loss of habitat at scale, working closely with farmers in a specific location close to Stanthorpe QLD to develop a Biodiversity Stepping Stone linkage at a landscape scale with Southern Qld Landscapes, Regen Farmers Mutual & Qld Gov Landscape Restoration Fund.

  • Regen Advisor – Upper Clarence Headwater Custodians Project. Co-design with a self-organised group of farmers and stakeholders a catchment scaled project to address water quality downstream using carbon projects as a stepping off point. Partners included Regen Farmers Mutual, Carbon8, Landcare, Local Land Services and NSW Primary Industries Productivity and Abatement Program.
