I am an ecologist with 22 years of experience in ecological consultancy, vegetation management policy and decision-making, and botanical identification.

I can assist landowners and proponents in designing programs that will demonstrate environmental co-benefits for Native Vegetation, Coastal Ecosystems, Threatened Wildlife, Threatened Ecosystems and Wetlands.

I have been involved at a senior level in ecological field investigations, reporting and the impact assessment/approval process for many of the largest infrastructure proposals in Queensland and the Northern Territory in the last two decades, including:

  • Urannah dam project near Eungella in central Queensland,
  • Hell's Gate dam project near Charters Towers in north Queensland,
  • Project Sea Dragon (Sea Farm Group) in the NT (sites near Kununurra and Darwin),
  • Adelaide River Off-stream Storage proposal (NT),

  • Western Corridor wastewater recycling pipeline project, south-east Queensland,
  • Western Basin EIS, Gladstone Harbour, south-east Queensland,
  • Hancock s proposed rail link from Alpha to Abbot Point, central Queensland,
  • Chinalco bauxite proposal (Aurukun, Cape York Peninsula).

I operate Astrebla Ecological Services, a consulting sole trading operation that started in April 2015. Astrebla Ecological Services offers:

  • Vegetation community (regional ecosystem) surveys and mapping,
  • Threatened species surveys

I am a recognised and suitably qualified person under the Queensland Flora Survey Guideline - Protected Plants and have completed over 40 protected plant surveys since 2015.

I have also received pre-approval as a botanist for surveys conducted for the Commonwealth EPBC Act including:

  • BioCondition surveys,
  • Ecological monitoring surveys,
  • Weed surveys, mapping and management plans.

I have extensive experience in the Brigalow Belt, Einasleigh Uplands, Central Queensland and South-East Queensland bioregions, and the North Kennedy district (Cairns-Cooktown-
