Disaster Assistance Loans - Small business
Small Businesses whose assets have been significantly damaged as a direct result of an eligible disaster may be able to access low interest loans of up to $250,000.
What assistance is available?
Concessional loans are provided to assist you to re-establish the normal operations of your small business by covering costs such as:
- repairing or replacing damaged plant and equipment
- repairing or replacing buildings
- supplying stock for up to one month to replace lost stock and maintain liquidity of the business
- meeting carry-on requirements including:
- sustenance
- paying rent and rates

Defined disaster areas
The Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Services has activated concessional loans for small businesses in relation to the following eligible disasters:
- Southern Queensland Bushfires 6-12 September 2019
- Severe Tropical Cyclone Trevor and associated low pressure system, 19 - 27 March 2019
- North and Far North Queensland Monsoon Trough, 25 January - 14 February 2019
- Central Queensland Bushfires, 22 November – 6 December 2018
- Severe Tropical Cyclone Nora and Associated Flooding, 24 – 29 March 2018
- North Queensland Flooding, 6 – 10 March 2018
To be eligible for assistance your property must be located in one of the "defined disaster areas" for the relevant disaster (see below).
