Farm Business Analysis Assistance

Are you experiencing financial challenges with your farming enterprise and looking for help?

The Farm Business Analysis Assistance program is a free no obligation service, designed to assist primary producers experiencing financial difficulties and can help you get back on track with your finances.

Client story

Beyond the homestead fence on Billy Carson’s sheep and cotton property, the reality of the drought crippling South West Queensland hits hard. See how an independent review through the Farm Business Analysis Assistance program validated what they are already doing.

What the program provides:

  • Access to a panel of independent farm debt restructuring specialists with significant experience in turning around struggling financial enterprises;
  • An impartial report on your business, operation and overall financial position;
  • The opportunity to work with the specialists to identify the underlying problems you are experiencing;
  • A review of your existing business strategies and options and recommendations that resolve your underlying debt issues including debt restructure;
  • The report is provided in confidence on a no obligation basis, so you remain in control of how you wish to proceed.

How to apply:

  • Speak with either your accountant, advisor, bank or QRIDA to see if you are eligible and, if so, apply by submitting an application;
  • You will need to provide information about your enterprise to assist with the application process. This includes financial statements, tax returns and your current statement of position.

What to expect:

  • You can choose your preferred financial specialist from our panel which we will engage on your behalf;
  • QRIDA will brief your specialist and engage with key parties including your bank, advisor or rural financial counsellor to ensure the engagement goes smoothly;
  • The specialist will go on farm and develop the report over approximately 8 weeks, in consultation with you;
  • On final completion you can review and consider the report and then choose what action to take with the information and options provided in the report.
  • QRIDA will be in contact to follow up on how you are progressing and get your feedback.

Feedback from our clients

“The report investigated our strengths and weaknesses, provided the confidence to engage our lender (through existing professional network) to consolidate and recapitalise saving more than $100, 000 a year.”

“The process brought us back to the table with our lender. The independent consultant was able to discuss options and gain agreement to reduce debt and save about $130, 000.”

“The process brought a realisation that we were no longer the traditional producer we thought we were. Our business had changed and so to our focus also needed to move.”

Restructuring for Recovery after the North Queensland floods

Primary producers in North and North West Queensland recovering from the devastating floods earlier this year have access to free and independent professional assistance to help plan for their financial future and restructure their business for recovery.

Hundreds of producers have already accessed disaster assistance grants or concessional loans via QRIDA to help with the costs of immediate clean-up and reinstatement activities.

Many producers are now looking to their longer-term financial position and considering their next step on the long road to recovery and this is where QRIDA can also assist.

QRIDA’s Farm Business Analysis Assistance program is a free, independent and no obligation service, designed to assist primary producers experiencing financial difficulties to help get back on track with their finances and business.
