Wheelchair Accessible Taxi Grant Scheme

Round 2

The Queensland Government has committed $21 million to support the modernisation and expansion of Queensland’s wheelchair accessible taxi fleet to ensure continuity of service to those with reduced mobility.

Applications for Round 2 closed on April 9.

About this grant scheme

The Wheelchair Accessible Taxi Grant Scheme provides assistance up to $45,000 with a 50 per cent co-contribution from applicants, to offset the cost of purchasing and modifying a new wheelchair accessible taxi.

The scheme is being run in rounds over four years. The key dates for the second round are:

9 April 2020

Applications close at 11:59pm

27 April 2020

Application outcomes will be advised

Upon approval and funding agreement

Successful applicants will receive funding to agreed milestones as their project progresses.

Application process

QRIDA will assess and decide applications on a competitive basis on the age of the vehicle being replaced and other criteria.
