Exceptional Disaster Assistance Loans - Primary Producer & Business

Primary producers and business owners whose assets have sustained exceptional damage as a direct result of the North and Far North Queensland Monsoon Trough disaster event may be able to access low interest Exceptional Disaster Assistance Loans of up to $1,000,000.

What assistance is available?

Concessional loans are available to assist you to:

  • repair or replace damaged plant and equipment used in your primary production enterprise or business
  • repair or replace buildings
  • meet requirements for carrying on your primary production enterprise or business, including:
    • buying goods used to operate the business
    • paying rates, rent or wages
    • paying creditors
  • for a primary production enterprise - meet carry-on requirements including:
    • re-planting, restoring or re-establishing areas affected by the disaster event
    • buying livestock to replace livestock lost as a result of the disaster event
    • sustaining livestock
    • carrying on essential property operations

Loan amount
  • Maximum of $1,000,000
  • The maximum loan amount includes any previously approved Disaster Assistance Loans for the North and Far North Queensland Monsoon Trough
Maximum term
  • Up to 10 years
Repayments
  • No repayments of either principal or interest for the first 2 years of the loan
  • A further 2 years interest only period may be available
Security
  • Loans must be secured by a mortgage of land and other assets satisfactory to QRIDA
Fees
  • No establishment fees, no account maintenance fees and no fees for early payout
Application closing date
  • Applications for these loans close on 30 June 2021
